There is nothing more personal than one's bedroom. At A.R. Foss, we recognize that a person's bedroom is both a place of sanctuary and a place where rest and sleep need to occur. Our bedroom products are designed with our clients. Hand sketches become working drawings, working drawings become fine, heirloom quality furnishings, uniquely matched to each customer's tastes.
The example bed and matching armoire were designed for a couple in Florida. The original design was arrived at in a series of steps matching the couple's tastes to ergonomic function and the size of the room the furniture would live in.
Below are images of the bed construction in process. Please note the detailed, recessed birds-eye maple panels, the solid black walnut "bun" feet, curly maple newel caps on the foot posts, black walnut sticking around borders of the recessed panels, and strong (invisible) dowel joinery throughout. Additionally the entire bed comes apart with hidden, heavy duty side rail fasteners, allowing simple set up and transport.

Next, are photos of the finished, assembled bed, matching night stands and armoire in the owner's bedroom. Please note the cohesive design elements and the matching of the great beauty of natural hardwoods to the function of each piece.
