Since the late 1970s, A.R. Foss has been designing and installing custom cabinetry, personalized furniture and furnishings and architectural millwork. We work very closely with our clients, and/or their architects to achieve their vision combined with our extreme attention to detail and high quality construction methods.
All of our products are assembled using classic woodworking methods. Our joints range from mortise and tenon to dowel joints to the more recently developed "biscuit" joinery. Our joinery is extremely strong, and produces an invisible connection between surfaces, typically with no external evidence of fasteners.
The finish on our products ranges fom classic, multi-layered hand applied nitro-cellulose (wood resin based) lacquer to hand rubbed oils and extends to contemporary polyurethane finishes. Every finish coating has its own benefits and advantages, which is why we have so many client choices. Our goal is always to provide a mixed value of durability and visual beauty, where the art of the natural hardwood grain is enhanced.
